I don’t know if this is a new service of Google but it is new to me…
Google can give you an email address with a domain name for free!
You only have to do a small task in order to prove that the domain is yours

This is called Google Apps - though if you have a domain already it isn't that hard getting e-mail hosting (even for free) anyway. Nevertheless for people without the resources, knowledge or even trust in other third parties - it is a decent solution.

yeah i heard that. but well with so many domain companies around, will google succeed on this business? i doubt it.

Along with email it will offer the calendar and its google docs. It's ok if your domain host doesn't offer too much email capability.

The service is good and reliable.Also you get around 300 emails and no costing involved so it is good solution.

I havent heard about Google offering any such web domains/hosting services.
