Default Deliberate Link Baiting Strategy? Lilly Allen bashed by the Guardian

Hi

I've posted a long article on the Multilingual PR forum analysing a recent article on a Guardian blog that's resulted in a huge numbers of comments.

I think they deliberately posted controversial content as Link Bait, but I'm not so sure it's a sensible strategy for a well-established news organisation...

Would like your thoughts on this.

IMO controversy isn't th eway to go, although there are many main stream blogs that use this technique to flare a discussion - I don't like that. I do like standing for something I believe in, eve if it may sound a bit controversial, but that's it ... being manipulative can backfire as you rightly point out: I dont like this approach and wouldn't advise a Client to go down that path
