A few days ago I found a site in Google's SERPs after looking for images or video search (not sure what I did exactly just know I got the url from google's SERPs).
I was able to find a french music video I wasnt able to finde on youtube. I also find as many european music or travel videos as on youtube. It seems they're focussing on the European market (look at the users and their nice little flags :-)) and are doing a good job at it. Their domain name is memorable and easy to type in, too, which I guess is another reason why Ive been using this site regularly for the last few days..and will continue to do so. Knowing how dominant Google is (especially in Europe) this really surprised me b/c I had seen German video sites before and they werent really competition to youtube (imho). However, I think this site stands a good chance to become popular if they market it right (I think the video content for the European market/the user community is as good as youtube's or maybe better?). So if you try to launch video content, why not put it on there, too? P.S.: Im not saying this b/c I think its cool to see a 'newkidontheblock' or a google-competitor...to be honest I really dont use any other search engine than Google...I really think the site has nice video content if you're looking for European travel/music videos.

Hi Newkid
I'm a newbie on this site, and I would like to know which video search are you talking about. I am responsible for a large social network related to songs&music and anything related to this is interesting for me. TIA Dictina |

Hi Dictina,
I'm sorry. I can't believe I typed a long post about this without ever mentioning what website I referred to .I was talking about www.dailymotion.com when I typed that post a year ago. I assume you've probably heard about them already, though? I think they're based in Paris. Actually if I can't find something on youtube I'll still use them to find it. Sometimes they really have something that youtube doesn't: For example I've found French music videos on there that I hadnt been able to find on youtube (probably because theyre located in Paris and specializing on the European market). |

Hi Patrick,
Thanks for answering and sorry for a late reply. I guess this thread will get the prize for the most delayed conversation on the Internet. Yeah, Dailymotion, interesting site... though I tried to contact them for stablishing an Official Content Account a year ago, and never got an answer from them. Anyway, regarding videos, after the almighty Youtube my beloved site is Vimeo |
