Default Do you do "only" SEO?

Just curious if you guys are interested in (similar) things other than SEO..such as marketing or online marketing in general, or web analytics, or web development or pay per click or maybe we have a usability expert here?

Many people seem to think that SEO shouldn't be done as a standalone service and I sort of agree..at least if one is in charge of the whole campaign (nothing wrong with doing "only" SEO if other people take care of the rest).

But other than that I also realize a lot that most SEO's have a deep interested in one (or multiple other) related fields.

I'm pretty interested in SEO, PPC, web analytics, usability and marketing. I'm still a beginner, though (remember: I said interested not great ). However, I realize I cant learn/do too many things at once so I think web development will be something I wont get very deep into any time soon (meaning html and css must do for now).

What are your other related interests ?

IMO and as far as my professional activity goes it is only natural that SEO skills expand into other areas of interest - or should I say that SEO includes ALSO the disciplines you are mentioning.

Having said that it doesn't mean one person can be an expert/authority on all these issues, but know enough to get by and solve very common problems related to most of the work coming your way.

Yes I agree with you perfectly. However, I'm also really into web analytics/marketing..more than I would have to be for SEO purposes, I think (whereas I only know as much coding as I have to know for SEO for example).

I know a lot of SEOs are into web development just as much as they're into SEO, etc.

I was just trying to get to know people on here a bit and was wondering if we have any specialists for such related fields here

ah great..didnt know you would place them on new domains :-).

I think the multilingual pcc thing could be interesting, too as the search engines market share differs quite a lot from country to country..Google having >90% market share (Ive heard higher estimations, too..virtually anyone uses Google and nothing else here).

On the one hand that could mean that for PPC one only has to learn about adwords, but on the other hand maybe most people in Germany are only doing adwords and one could get nice profits from some of the other engines? or maybe it just strikes a balance which would be boring

I assume in other countries it could be even more interesting..where Google does not dominate as in the US or Germany.
